So yeah, life has pretty much gotten in the way of me doing much more than looking at other people's artwork here.  The Shiba rescue has grown by leaps and bounds and on average I spend 3+ hours a day just answering emails related to dogs needing to be saved or people interested in adopting.  I've also founded a Shiba Inu meetup group and that keeps me busy one weekend out of every month. I'm still dancing though I had to take a year off of school (stupid bad economy).  Hopefully I'll be able to go back and finish up my degree in the fall.  We'll see... As much as I have loved watching the Shiba Inu Puppy Cam, it really has me worried about the future of my breed :( There are so many people who are now making snap decisions about obtaining a Shiba, AND THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT THE BREED TO GET LIKE THAT! (I spotted one comment on a message board begging Santa to bring this person one for Christmas...) First off most people are obtaining Shibas in poor ways (ie puppy stores/internet). 99.99% (actually it's 100% but I'll be diplomatic) of the puppies sold at the places come from puppy mills/backyrd breeders. I'm posting this on all of my corners of the web in hopes that someone will be able to help. As some of you may know I foster Shiba Inu, in addition to owning 2 myself.  My last foster Legolas was adopted a week ago, Saturday on 7/2.  On monday 7/4 while his new owner was visiting family he bolted out an open door.  It has been 6 days since he was last seen and we are getting extreamly discouraged.  He is very scared, since he came from a puppy mill originally, and because of a stomache problem is very thin.
